Let Go - My favourite KMFDM album?
I've been into KMFDM for around 15 years, and I think they've been getting better, more mature and heavier with age, yet still always managing to be a contemporary alternative band, and I like it. They have recently released another album called 'Let Go', and it might just become my favourite. The vocals (Lucia's and Cap'n K's) and guitars are a perfect match. And Lucia is by far my favourite female vocalist.
The title track of Let Go is quite similar to the title track on Hyena, the latter, I think, being my favourite KMFDM track.
The other tracks that really stand out include Airhead, which I'm guessing is about the emptiness of consumer (and American?) culture, but I like it for its sort of entrancing 90s alternative sound. WW 2023, a clever mix of reggae and instrumentals, seems to be about the 'War on Terror' having mutated into a perma-war.
